O ativista brasileiro Thiago Ávila será deportado de Israel até esta quinta-feira (12/6), após ser preso em águas internacionais durante a Flotilha da Liberdade, junto à ativista sueca Greta Thunberg.

A decisão foi divulgada nesta quarta-feira (11/6), em audiência realizada pelo Tribunal de Israel, e confirmada pela família do ativista, segundo informações da Agência Brasil.
Após ser detido, Thiago iniciou uma greve de fome nesta terça-feira (10/6) e a mantém até ser liberado.
Oito ativistas, incluindo Greta Thunberg, foram detidos em águas internacionais pelo governo israelense, que justificou a ação ao alegar entrada ilegal em Israel. O grupo transportava alimentos para a população de Gaza.

Além da detenção, o governo israelense divulgou imagens dos ativistas, chamando ironicamente o barco de “Iate Selfie”. A publicação ainda afirmou que a pequena quantidade de alimentos será enviada a Gaza por “canais humanitários reais”.
O governo brasileiro informou que acompanhou a audiência de Thiago no tribunal e tem prestado assistência ao ativista.
