Com protestos sobre a privatização das linhas do Metrô e da Sabesp, funcionários das linhas estatais paulistas se mostraram descontentes com o governo de Tarcísio.

Uma greve de 24 horas foi realizada em 23 de março de 2023. A paralisação dos metroviários afetou as linhas 1-Azul, 3-Vermelha, 15-Prata e 2-Verde.
Segundo os sindicalistas, os representantes do Metrô informaram que não tinham autorização do governo de Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos) para pagar o abono pedido pela categoria.
Os metroviários entraram em debate com o governo estadual para substituir a greve pela catraca liberada, mas inicialmente o governo achou a medida "pouco segura" para a população.

A greve só acabou na manhã seguinte, após um acordo ser feito.
Em 3 de outubro, funcionários do Metrô, da TM e da Sabesp fizeram greve contra os planos de privatização de Tarcísio. Na ocasião, a greve durou 24 horas e foi classificada pelo governo como ilegal - a Justiça havia determinado que 80% do efetivo trabalhasse, com 100% durante os horários de pico.
Devido a esta paralisação, o governador Tarcísio de Freitas chegou a chamar a atitude de “egoísta, ilegal e abusiva”.

Os funcionários iniciaram o movimento em protesto contra privatizações da Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (TM), Metrô e Sabesp (companhia de abastecimento de água) propostas pelo governador Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos).
No feriado de 12 de outubro houve uma paralisação surpresa que afetou o funcionamento de quatro linhas de metrô (linhas 1-Azul, 3-Vermelha, 15-Prata e 2-Verde) por cerca de três horas. O protesto foi uma resposta do sindicato às advertências dadas pelo Metrô a operadores de trens que haviam se recusado a treinar outros funcionários a operar os veículos.
A paralisação ocorreu devido a supostas “punições” que estariam sendo aplicadas pela empresa à categoria. O sindicato afirmou na época que estavam sendo "obrigados a fazer coisas além de suas funções".

Cinco funcionários foram demitidos após o ocorrido.
Os funcionários do Metrô, da Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (TM), da Sabesp (estatal de saneamento básico) e da Fundação Casa entraram em greve em 28 de novembro, em São Paulo.
A motivação foi semelhante a de outurbo: política. Os sindicatos dessas categorias se mostraram contrários à privatização da companhia de saneamento básico e à concessão das linhas metroferroviárias. O projeto de desestatização da Sabesp já avançava à época na Assembleia Legislativa de São Paulo (Alesp) e viria a ser votado pelos deputados estaduais posteriormente.

A greve afetou todas as nove linhas estatais do Metrô e do trem. Já as linhas 4 (Amarela), 5 (Lilás), 8 (Diamante) e 9 (Esmeralda), concedidas à iniciativa privada, funcionaram normalmente naquela terça-feira.
