O Museu de Artes de São Paulo (Masp) está sendo investigado pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico Nacional (Iphan) pela venda de cerca de 20 cavaletes originais da artista Lina Bo Bardi, nos últimos três anos.

O órgão federal, que tombou o museu e suas peças, ou seja, os reconheceu como de valor histórico e cultural, afirma não ter sido comunicado sobre as transações.
A venda começou em 2022, para levantar fundos diante das restrições impostas pela pandemia. Os 20 cavaletes originais, do período entre 1968 e 1996, foram oferecidos pelo valor de R$ 75 mil cada. Outros cinco continuam à venda pelo mesmo valor na própria loja do museu.
Segundo o Masp, as peças já não estavam adequadas para serem exibidas segundos “padrões museológicos atuais”, quebrando com facilidade. Por conta disso, a istração do espaço solicitou réplicas modernizadas em 2015 que “respeitassem a concepção original de Bo Bardi”. Os cavaletes originais foram então oferecidos a patronos do museu e, em seguida, ao público geral.

Em nota enviada ao Metrópoles, o Iphan afirma que não foi comunicado sobre essas transações e defende que todo o patrimônio do museu é tombado em nível federal, fato que não impede necessariamente a comercialização das peças. O órgão declara ainda que abriu um processo istrativo no dia 5 de junho para apurar em que situação se encontra atualmente as peças tombadas.
A istração do museu, porém, entende que o tombamento não é específico a cada peça e sim ao conjunto expositivo de Lina Bo Bardi como um conceito geral. Por isso, mesmo que sejam réplicas dos originais que retornam ao museu, a preservação ainda assim está mantida.
O Masp diz ainda que a venda dos cavaletes respeita os marcos legais de preservação do patrimônio e reafirma o compromisso com a transparência istrativa e a valorização do legado de Bo Bardi, “conciliando preservação histórica com práticas museológicas atuais”.
