Um turista de 68 anos morreu após se afogar na Praia do Guaecá, em São Sebastião, no litoral de São Paulo. O afogamento aconteceu no início da tarde de sábado (3/5).

Segundo testemunhas, o idoso, morador de Ferraz de Vasconcelos, na Grande São Paulo, estava na água ao lado do neto por volta das 12h50 quando caiu em uma corrente de retorno e começou a se afogar.

Dois surfistas conseguiram resgatar a dupla e levaram avô e neto até a faixa de areia.

De imediato, um médico que estava no local iniciou um procedimento de reanimação cardiopulmonar. Pouco depois os bombeiros chegaram e uma ambulância do Samu foi solicitada.

O idoso foi levado ao Pronto Socorro Central de São Sebastião, onde a morte foi constatada. A idade e o estado de saúde do neto não foram revelados.

Segundo o Grupamento de Bombeiros Marítimos (GBMar), 122 vítimas foram salvas de afogamento no litoral de São Paulo durante o feriado prolongado do Dia do Trabalho. Houve uma morte, no período, sendo a do idoso em São Sebastião.

Em abril, um casal de Taboão da Serra, também na Grande São Paulo, morreu por afogamento, em Praia Grande.
