O Congresso Nacional aprovou, na última quinta-feira (29/5), a obrigatoriedade da realização de exames toxicológicos para quem estiver ando pelo processo de tirar a Carteira Nacional de Habilitação (CNH) para carros e motos.

O projeto de lei foi aprovado pela Câmara dos Deputados e inclui diversas mudanças no Código de Trânsito Brasileiro. Agora, o texto vai para a sanção do presidente Lula.
O novo texto determina que o resultado negativo no exame toxicológico é obrigatório para se obter a permissão para dirigir, nome dado à CNH provisória, recebida por quem se habilita pela primeira vez nas categorias A e B.
A medida tem o objetivo de fortalecer a segurança no trânsito, assegurando que os condutores estejam livres do uso de substâncias ilícitas que possam comprometer sua habilidade ao volante.

O uso de substâncias ilícitas, a alta velocidade e o sono estão entre as principais causas de acidentes de trânsito.
O presidente da Sociedade Brasileira de Patologia Clínica (SBPC), Alvaro Pulchinelli Junior, que também é especialista em toxicologia, afirmou que os exames toxicológicos são muito eficazes, e sua realização obrigatória contribuirá significativamente para a redução dos acidentes no país.

“Os exames laboratoriais evoluíram consideravelmente, garantindo maior eficácia na identificação dessas substâncias, proporcionando assim uma avaliação mais abrangente da condição dos motoristas”, ressaltou.
O exame toxicológico de larga janela de detecção utiliza amostras de cabelo, pelos do corpo ou unhas do motorista.
É possível detectar substâncias tóxicas com janela de detecção de até 90 dias. A análise busca verificar o consumo, ativo ou não, de substâncias psicoativas que comprovadamente comprometam a capacidade de direção.
