Ribeirão Pires, cidade do ABC Paulista, está no catálogo oficial da São Paulo State Film Commission, uma iniciativa do Governo do Estado que conecta cidades com potencial para locações às produtoras de cinema, TV, publicidade e plataformas de streaming, do Brasil e do exterior.

A partir de 30 de junho, pontos estratégicos da cidade começarão a ser selecionados para compor oficialmente o catálogo. O anúncio foi feito em maio pela Secretaria da Cultura, Economia e Indústria Criativas de São Paulo e incluiu mais dez cidades do Estado nessa nova fase do projeto.
Entre elas estão Indaiatuba, Atibaia, Caraguatatuba, Campos do Jordão, Eldorado e Hortolândia. Ribeirão Pires é a única cidade do ABC a entrar na lista.
A plataforma da Film Commission é parte de um plano maior para impulsionar a indústria audiovisual no estado de São Paulo.

Ela reúne informações detalhadas sobre as cidades participantes, permitindo que produtoras filtrem locações com base em características como paisagens naturais, arquitetura, cultura local e até opções para esportes radicais.
Com mais de 60% da produção audiovisual nacional concentrada em São Paulo, segundo dados da Spcine, o projeto reforça o estado como um dos maiores polos criativos da América Latina.
Para Ribeirão Pires, isso representa visibilidade, valorização cultural e oportunidades de movimentar a economia local.

O prefeito da cidade, Guto Volpi, disse que estar no catálogo da Film Commission mostra que Ribeirão Pires é, sim, um cenário digno de grandes produções. "É uma chance de mostrar nossa riqueza cultural e de aquecer nossa economia por meio da arte”,
