Comentou-se que faria, neste período, uma série de contatos com vistas a uma atuação dos Estados Unidos na política interna do Brasil, inclusive com a possibilidade de alguma limitação ao ministro do STF, Alexandre de Moraes.
Outros anunciavam que estaria buscando um asilo político, para não cumprir eventual pedido de prisão. Na verdade, qualquer deputado pode pedir licença sem qualquer motivação, por período de até 120 dias. É dispositivo constitucional afeto a qualquer congressista.

Nada de novo, mas na atual polarização nacional, os comentários nas redes sociais e nos jornais divagaram que Eduardo será um foragido da justiça e, noutro polo, um herói contra a ditadura do judiciário.
