Dirigir na chuva é sempre mais difícil. Além da pista molhada, que diminui a aderência, do barulho que dificulta a concentração e dos vidros embaçando, os retrovisores molhados também são um desafio.

Mas você sabia que tem um truque simples que pode te ajudar, e muito, com os retrovisores em dia de chuva? E o segredo é um material simples e barato: pasta de dente. Entenda agora o macete.
Para evitar que a água se acumule nos espelhos, primeiro limpe os retrovisores (esse truque deve ser feito antes de pegar chuva).
Com os espelhos limpos e secos, aplique uma pequena quantidade de pasta de dente sem macro abrasivos (aqueles cristais que são adicionados em alguns cremes dentais) e espalhe por toda a superfície do retrovisor até que fique transparente.

E voilà! Seus espelhos estão imunes à chuva. A fina camada de pasta de dente funciona como hidrorepelente, deixando os retrovisores utilizáveis mesmo em dias de chuva mais intensa.

Isso acontece porque a pasta de dente possui, em sua composição, detergentes que quebram a tensão superficial das moléculas de água. Sem a tensão superficial, as gotículas de água não aderem em superfícies lisas como as dos espelhos.

É importante que o creme dental que você escolheu não possua os cristais abrasivos, caso contrário seu espelho ficará riscado e você vai precisar trocar por outro. Depois da chuva, é importante também que você limpe a pasta depois de estacionar em um lugar coberto.
A camada deve ser bem fina, caso contrário o espelho vai distorcer a imagem, o que pode levar a acidentes graves de trânsito. Teste o reflexo antes de sair na chuva com o carro!
Uma alternativa mais convencional e segura, mas um pouco mais cara, é a cera antiembaçante, ou cristalizadora de espelhos, que também impedem a aderência da água nas superfícies.
